A further Bruckner symphony has been released as part of Supraphon's popular Archiv series. It was recorded by the Czech Philharmonic in the late 60's and early 70's with the renowned Yugoslavian conductor Lovro von Matačić, one of the last "body and soul romantics". Bruckner's Symphony No. 5 ranks among his most famous works, and this recording has taken its place next to the Symphony No. 7 in the Supraphon Gold Fund thanks to the brilliant form of the Czech Philharmonic and the talent of the conductor.
